Tennis Smart

Before Tennis Smart’s innovative tennis-focused programme began in 2005, up to 50% of the UK’s talented tennis players were dropping out of the game at around age 15 because they couldn’t see a path which combined their studies and their favourite sport.

Since then, Tennis Smart has helped over 500 British players fulfil their tennis and academic dreams in universities across America. With player welfare at its heart, Tennis Smart is there throughout the process, helping players to build their college profile, find the university which suits their specific needs, integrate easily into their new environment, and later transition onto the Pro Tour or into the working world.

With a hands-on, professional service from former GB number 1 player, Sarah Borwell, Tennis Smart was the first player transition company of its kind – focusing on tennis and British players specifically. It provides opportunities for players to be seen in action by US college coaches at its London showcases, and also organises for players to experience the US tennis environment through preparation camps at the USTA national campus in Florida. With over 10 years of experience, Tennis Smart now provides a personally tailored helping hand for the majority of current British players in American universities.
